From our entire team at HEMIC, we wish to congratulate Tammy Teixeira on being named an “Industry Leader” by the Women Who Mean Business program at Pacific Business News. The program honors industry leaders across a broad spectrum of industries in Hawai’i. The 2017 honorees were chosen from a field of more than 170 nominations and the winners will be awarded at a ceremony in early March.
Tammy was chosen for her extraordinary leadership, innovation and mentorship in the Hawai’i insurance industry. Born and raised in Hawai’i, Tammy joined HEMIC as vice president of Agency Management & Service in March of 2013, bringing with her a career’s worth of experience in workers’ compensation and commercial P&C insurance — as well as a high degree of commitment and humility. Her success is a tribute to her passion for helping people. Our industry is about risk management, but it is also about helping people when they are at their most vulnerable and in need of support.
CEO Marty Welch noted, “I sought out Tammy for her expertise and long experience in the Hawai’i Insurance industry. Hers is a distinguished career that spans nearly three decades. Tammy has worked her way up through this industry, beginning in claims and building a reputation as a charismatic and very passionate leader who is driven by one guiding light: to help the Hawai’i community and better the lives of Hawai‘i residents through her work.”
We at HEMIC are proud to have Tammy in our ‘ohana. We’ve experienced first-hand her dedication to doing the right thing, her tireless commitment to best practices and customer service. We’ve benefited from her innovative thinking and our team members continue to grow and develop because of her generous mentorship.
“Tammy has helped lead our team to unprecedented success over the past several years, all while implementing a paradigm shift in the way we think about our business and our role in the community. She has guided our success with an unflinching dedication to improved customer service and improved service offerings for our customers,” said Marty Welch.
Mahalo, Tammy for all that you do for the Hawai’i community — both the employers and workers who are part of our larger ‘ohana — and for our team here at HEMIC! Congratulations on this much deserved recognition of your talents, experience and dedication to the Hawai’i insurance industry!
