On July 11, HEMIC held their Third Annual Charity Golf Tournament. This year, all proceeds went to benefit Kids’ Chance of Hawai`i, an organization dedicated to providing scholarships to Hawai`i children with a parent who has been catastrophically injured or killed on the job. Communities on the North Shore of Kauai have been devastated by recent flooding, and it will take time, resources and effort to help them begin recovery. On the Big Island, the Puna lava flow continues to impact the affected communities. HEMIC has donated $5000 to The Salvation Army for their local disaster relief efforts: to provide food, water, clothing, emotional and spiritual support to those affected by these recent events.
