HEMIC Foundation
The Foundation is aware of our ever-changing social environment and we strive to adapt and to be proactive and responsive in order to support our communities’ needs and challenges. The Foundation strategically invests in the areas where we believe our company and staff can make the most impact. Additionally, because we take an outcomes-based approach to our funding, we emphasize partnerships with non-profit organizations that make a lasting difference.
At HEMIC, our employees inspire us every day by striving for excellence, serving our customers with the highest standards of conduct, operating with the highest level of integrity, and supporting and believing in one another.
Philanthropy has always played a powerful role in our organization and our employees take leadership roles in supporting many charitable organizations throughout our community. Our employees drive our corporate social responsibility programs, supporting the causes they care about, all while having way too much fun making a difference across our state.
The HEMIC Foundation creates impactful workplace giving programs to support non-profit organizations, providing a cost-effective and efficient vehicle for funding for these organizations. Employees have the opportunity to automatically deduct donations from their paycheck to support the HEMIC Foundation for a one-year period. During the Workplace Giving campaign, employees may choose to renew the previous year’s pledge during HEMIC’s Benefit Open Enrollment.
The Foundation encourages our employees to engage in philanthropy by matching their contributions up to $1,000 per employee annually. This allows employees to leverage the HEMIC Foundation’s philanthropic support and maximize their gifts for causes they care about.
Each year, the Foundation hosts a Golf Tournament to raise funds for a non-profit organization selected by the Foundation’s Board of Directors. Additionally, the Foundation holds a number of fundraisers throughout the year led by employees who have identified real needs in their communities and who wish to make a difference in the areas in which they live and work.
We believe that it takes time, talent and motivation to help our communities thrive. Our employees are passionate about volunteering and supporting our local community.

HEMIC Foundation was created to formalize and deepen our support of charitable efforts throughout the islands, to enable a nimble response to community needs, and to be a trusted partner with our non-profit grantees.
Some of our proud community partners include: The American Heart Association, Arthritis Foundation, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Boy Scouts of America Aloha Council, Domestic Violence Action Center, Girl Scouts, Kids Chance of Hawai‘i, The YMCA, the YWCA, Waikīkī Community Center, and more.
