In the Community
HEMIC was founded to serve the growing needs of Hawai`i’s business community, its employers, and their workers. As a company, we both embrace and exemplify Hawai`i’s unique blend of cultures, beliefs and people that make our islands special.
In Hawai`i, we are taught from an early age to care for each other and to share aloha. At HEMIC, we believe it is our kuleana to support organizations that care for our local community, especially families and children, in meaningful ways. We are proud to contribute with our time, personal efforts, fundraising and financial contributions.
HEMIC has endowed the Shidler College of Business with the Robert L. Dove, Jr. Scholarship for Insurance Excellence. This four-year scholarship is intended to grow the future business leaders of Hawai`i by encouraging our best and brightest high school graduates to remain in Hawai`i for their business education.
HEMIC is proud to be a founding supporter of Kids’ Chance of Hawai`i, an organization that provides scholarships to children of workers who have been catastrophically injured or killed on the job. Kids’ Chance is dedicated to making a difference in their lives by helping them pursue and achieve their educational goals.
