HIMI was created as a service to our agents, to help round out their accounts and provide access to specialty insurance for specific industries unique to Hawai‘i.  

As the Managing General Agent (MGA) and Managing General Underwriter (MGU) for select mainland and international carriers, HEMIC Insurance Managers, Inc. (HIMI) offers attractive products from carriers that may not have previously been available in Hawai‘i. Products like specialized liability for non-profits, personal accident, and excess and surplus liability.

For insurance agents, we provide access to new markets and new products previously unavailable to their clients. We also operate as a Third-Party Administrator (TPA) for fee-based services including claim handling, loss prevention, and premium audit. 

As a subsidiary of Hawai‘i Employers’ Mutual Insurance Company, Inc.(HEMIC), HIMI strives to provide businesses and organizations multi-discipline expertise, outstanding reputation, and the size and durability of one of Hawai‘i’s leading insurance companies. HIMI acts as a carrier’s local office, providing boots on the ground 24/7. We manage all products locally, providing the services of a local branch office.
